Safety 

The Company holds a “zero harm” approach when it comes to the safety of our employees and contractors. Regular training seminars and educational programs are conducted to promote harm and injury preventing as well as injury and incident treatment. The workforce at Olaroz and Jujuy head office respect the importance of safety precaution implementation, correct incident response measures and continuous safety monitoring and incident reporting. Sales de Jujuy actively focuses on improving the safety of our operations and becoming a zero harm workplace.


Health 

The health of our employees extends beyond the risks associated with workplace operations with consideration also paid to their physical health and wellbeing. Year-round health care programs are conducted that provide free dentistry, ophthalmology, cardiology and paediatric services for both our employees and the local communities. Additionally, the Company has undertaken a number of campaigns which focus on creating awareness for the prevention or early detection of conditions such as breast cancer and substance dependency.


Environmental

Environmental monitoring program are regularly conducted with the participation of local suppliers and is open to Jujuy community participation. In schools, the Company provides workshops on environmental care, treatment of waste and its reprocessing.

Education, Health, Production, Transparency and Empowerment. Sales de Jujuy’s aim is to improve the quality of life of the people and their skills to be able to participate in regional development opportunities.

The Company’s shared value policy, which aims at working with suppliers and the employment bureau to hire and train local people under the supervision of high quality experienced professionals is a key contributor to the projects success.

The Company also offers a variety of volunteering opportunities for Orocobre Group personnel to participate. The volunteering opportunities range from accompanying tutors and doctors in the health, community and schooling education programs as well as ad hoc participation in sporting, religious or community events.

Sales de Jujuy has been formally recognised over the years for its extensive participation in corporately responsible activities winning the 2014 Mining Company of the Year award by Argentine mining magazine Panorama Minero and the Fundacion para el desarrollo de la Mineria Argentina and the 2013 Silver Cup Award by Inversiones Empresas y Negocios.
